is Colorado’s only statewide nonprofit citizens group participating in local, state and federal permitting and regulating of hard-rock mining.
While the other, engages in cooperative efforts with citizen’s action organizations, local communities, and national environmental organizations ensuring that residents across Colorado facing threats from irresponsible mining have the information and education necessary to protect their communities.

Justices Ok dumping Mine waste into Alaskan Lake

The Supreme Court gave approval for mining waste to be dumped into a mountain lake, and lobbed another controversial Bush administration policy into President Obama's lap.
Through these efforts INFORM ensures that pollution to our air, water and societies from irresponsible mining are held in check.  Thus, INFORM is able to help maintain the aesthetic beauty and thriving wildlife that have become so important to Colorado’s modern economy.

To accomplish our Mission, we use a two pronged approach-
One monitors (watch dogs) proposed metal, gem and uranium mining operations in Colorado.  Because of this direct involvement in the early stages of permitting, INFORM can ensure that mining’s effects to the local community, wildlife and water quality will be addressed before a project begins.
