We are the Information Network for Responsible Mining (INFORM).
INFORM
is Colorado’s only statewide nonprofit citizens group participating in local, state and federal permitting and regulating of hard-rock mining.
While the other engages in cooperative efforts with citizen’s action organizations, local communities, and national environmental organizations ensuring that residents across Colorado facing threats from irresponsible mining have the information and education necessary to protect their communities.
Uranium companies have problems since the Fukushima nuclear accident. Locally, Powertech Uranium has problems. Instead of starting their mining project in Colorado, they’ve put it on hold and closed their office...
Through these efforts INFORM ensures that pollution to our air, water and societies from irresponsible mining are held in check. Thus, INFORM is able to help maintain the aesthetic beauty and thriving wildlife that have become so important to Colorado’s modern economy.

Regulators in Colorado are allowing a mining company’s leaky disposal ponds to house radioactive waste, even after decades of complaints from state and federal environmental officials.
Our Goal
is to ensure environmental, social and economic justice for all inhabitants of Colorado
To accomplish our Mission, we use a two pronged approach-
One monitors (watch dogs) proposed metal, gem and uranium mining operations in Colorado. Because of this direct involvement in the early stages of permitting, INFORM can ensure that mining’s effects to the local community, wildlife and water quality will be addressed before a project begins.
